Job summary

STI is seeking an Onsite IT Support Technician to provide end-user support across the Culpeper District in Virginia. The role focuses on hands-on assistance, resolving hardware and software issues, and maintaining documentation while frequently traveling to different sites in the region.

The candidate should have a valid driver’s license, strong communication skills, and experience with Windows and Office products. This position is 100% onsite with state vehicle usage for local travel.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience with IT support or help desk systems is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops and wireless devices.
• Familiarity with basic network concepts and willingness to learn cabling standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line end user support for desktops, laptops, and wireless devices.
• Manage help desk tickets with tracking and reporting tools.
• Support Microsoft Desktop products including Windows OS, SharePoint, MS Office Suite, and MS Teams.
• Deliver customer-first service and maintain proper incident documentation.
• Assist in installation and maintenance of network cabling and patch panels.
• Drive a state vehicle to provide onsite support within the assigned region.
