Job summary

Avantor’s Onsite team in Branford, CT is seeking an inventory-focused professional to oversee consumables, materials, and shipments. You will maintain accurate records, perform cycle counts, and support annual inventories while ensuring GMP-compliant documentation and strong customer service.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in material handling or related fields, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel. Local applicants only; hourly pay with benefits.

• Minimum of 2 years experience in material handling/inventory replenishment/customer service
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Oversee consumables, chemicals, samples, and other materials
• Maintain inventory records and process inventory movement requests
• Monitor slow-moving/obsolete inventory; assist with cycle counts and annual inventories
• Generate and maintain inventory reports and customer metrics
• Perform desktop delivery of inbound packages
• Track expiration dates, lot numbers, and quantities
• Utilize system login and GMP-compliant documentation
• Serve as primary contact for inventory inquiries
• Communicate with customers, purchasing and plant managers
• Support order entry, reporting, metrics, and cost savings documentation
• Manage backorder reporting and expedite orders
• Coordinate outbound shipments, including hazardous materials
• Update and maintain SOPs
• Use SAP, Citrix, Avantor IMS, ChemSW and customer platforms
