Job summary

Avantor in Branford, CT is seeking an inventory/material handler to support lab and production services. You will manage consumables and inventory, process movement requests, and maintain accurate records to support GMP-compliant operations.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years in relevant work, proficiency with Word/Excel, and strong attention to detail. Typical hours are 7:30 am–4:00 pm, Monday–Friday, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in material handling, inventory replenishment, or customer service.
• GMP experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee consumables, chemicals, samples, and other materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and process inventory movement requests.
• Monitor slow-moving/obsolete inventory; conduct cycle counts and support physical inventories.
• Generate inventory reports and customer metrics.
• Coordinate outbound shipments and ensure proper packaging and documentation.
• Update SOPs and maintain GMP-compliant records.
• Serve as primary contact for inventory-related inquiries.
• Communicate with customers, purchasing directors, and facility managers.
