Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Project Manager for the HVAC division to serve as on-site leader for assigned controls projects, managing construction from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout.

You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, field resources, and customers to ensure safe, on-time delivery within budget and contract scope. Strong emphasis on planning, risk management, and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, HVAC Technology, Building Automation Systems, or a related field, with a minimum of four years of experience managing, coordinating, or executing HVAC, Building Automation, controls, or commercial construction projects.
• Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Automation Systems, HVAC Technology, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in project management, construction administration, and field operations leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned HVAC controls projects through hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and closeout.
• Coordinate day-to-day execution with subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administrative support as needed.
• Manage project financial performance, including costs, billings, collections, cash flow, and gross margin.
• Maintain regular communication with customers throughout all phases of the project and support the development of long-term relationships.
• Review contractual scope, evaluate field directives, bulletins, and schedule changes, and pursue change orders when additional work is identified.
