Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Project Manager for the HVAC division to act as the on-site project leader, coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, and customers from planning through commissioning and closeout.

You will drive planning, scheduling, cost control, risk mitigation, and quality assurance while maintaining profitability and strong customer relationships across projects.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, HVAC Technology, or a related field; minimum four years in HVAC/building automation/controls/construction.
• Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated project management, construction administration, and field operations leadership preferred.
• Hands-on design, installation, startup, commissioning and turnover of digital HVAC or BAS control systems.
• Strong HVAC controls knowledge and understanding of BAS.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC controls projects through design, programming, installation coordination, commissioning and closeout.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, electricians, technicians, designers, and admin staff.
• Manage project financials: costs, billings, cash flow, gross margin.
• Maintain communication with customers to build long-term relationships.
• Review scope and change orders; procure materials and manage delivery schedules.
• Oversee loading, verification, and commissioning of system controllers and equipment.
