Job summary

T S School, located in Philadelphia, PA, seeks an onsite Human Resources Specialist to support payroll accuracy, employee relations, safety, and core HR processes. Reporting to the HR Director, you will handle benefits coordination, workers’ compensation, recruitment support, compliance, onboarding, and HRIS administration.

The role requires a Bachelor's in HR or related field with at least three years of HR experience, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of federal and PA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Business Admin, Public Admin, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related field, plus at least three years HR experience.
• Experience with payroll, benefits, workers’ compensation, and leave management preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR support across payroll administration, time/attendance, leave management, benefits, and other HR functions.
• Explain HR programs, policies, and employment requirements; respond to inquiries; conduct research; provide guidance and analysis.
• Review personnel actions in HRIS, identify discrepancies, coordinate with departments to resolve issues and apply policies.
• Administer workers’ compensation processes, monitor claims, and assist with file audits.
• Advise managers and employees on employee relations issues, discipline procedures, and resolution strategies.
• Coordinate recruitment activities: post openings, source candidates, schedule interviews, review docs, extend offers, and coordinate background checks.
• Support onboarding and orientation for new employees.
• Ensure compliance with federal, PA, and local employment laws and organizational policies.
• Administer drug-testing programs and drug-free workplace policies; coordinate testing with service providers.
• Review driver records for positions involving company or personal vehicles.
• Support FMCSA compliance and maintain Driver Qualification Files as applicable.
• Prepare monthly HR reports on turnover, absenteeism, and recruitment activity; provide trend analysis.
• Provide backup for FMLA administration and benefits coordination.
• Maintain HRIS data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
