Job summary

The Gowan Co. in Yuma, AZ is seeking a full-time, onsite HR Generalist to support core people operations and keep HR processes running smoothly. You will partner with employees and managers to ensure policy alignment and legal compliance across HR activities.

Responsibilities include onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment support, and performance management, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality in HR systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
• Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR matters.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews.
• Handle employee relations by guiding policies, procedures, and HR best practices.
• Manage benefits administration, including health insurance and 401(k).
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Coordinate recruitment activities: postings, screening, interviews, offers.
• Support performance management: goals, evaluations, development plans.
• Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems.
• Audit HR policies and employee files for compliance.
• Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
• Support employee training logistics and attendance tracking.
• Partner with HR Manager on investigations and disciplinary actions.
• Facilitate employee engagement initiatives to support culture.
• Prepare reports and presentations for HR metrics and audits.
• Perform other duties as required.
