Job summary

Gowan Company is seeking a Human Resources Generalist in Yuma, AZ. This full-time, exempt role supports onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and performance management, acting as a key contact for employees and managers.

The position requires 2–4 years in a generalist HR role, a Bachelor's degree in HR or related field, and knowledge of federal/state regulations. SHRM-CP/PHR is preferred. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in HR, business administration, or related field.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, orientation, exit interviews).
• Handle employee relations issues and guide on policies and procedures.
• Manage benefits administration (health insurance, 401(k) and other programs).
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEO).
• Coordinate recruitment efforts (postings, screening, interviews, offers).
• Administer performance management (goal setting, evaluations, development plans).
• Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems.
• Audit HR policies and files for compliance.
• Assist with HR policies, training, and logistics.
• Support HR Manager with investigations and disciplinary actions.
• Facilitate employee engagement and prepare HR metrics reports.
