Job summary

Essex Property Trust is seeking a Porter to maintain grounds and common areas at one or more California properties. You will ensure curb appeal, assist residents, and keep amenities clean and well stocked.

Responsibilities include exterior cleaning, lobby upkeep, safety reporting, and seasonal tasks. Five-day onsite workweek with potential weekend coverage; basic computer tasks and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Custodial or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to use a personal smart device for property apps.
• Basic computer tasks, including Outlook emails.
• Able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of exterior areas: sidewalks, parking lots, courtyards, and landscaping.
• Sweep, blow, pick up trash and debris in common areas.
• Clean and maintain lobbies, hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, fitness centers, and restrooms.
• Stock common areas with supplies (toilet paper, soap, towels).
• Clean windows and glass surfaces to maintain a polished appearance.
• Report safety hazards to the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager.
• Assist with bulk trash removal and recycling procedures.
