Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking an onsite Distribution Operations Dispatcher in Salt Lake City for a 4x4 schedule (4 days on, 4 days off) from 5am to 5pm, including weekends and holidays.

You will assign daily work orders for gas service crews, dispatch emergencies, and coordinate with schedulers to optimize resources and routing. The role requires at least two years in Distribution Operations, strong communication and organizational skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in Distribution Operations or equivalent work experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Customer focus driven.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Assigns daily work orders and activities of gas service employees based on workload and manpower availability.
• Prioritizes and assigns daily work orders to optimize resource utilization.
• Dispatches emergency orders, including gas leaks, fire calls and monoxide orders.
• Monitors and reprioritizes work to manage overtime and ensure timely completion.
• Coordinates with schedulers and field leaders to prioritize daily routing.
• Manages backlog of undated and filler work needing completion.
• Directs personnel to respond to emergencies and facility locates.
• Communicates with mobile workforce and internal/external partners to ensure coordination.
• Performs crew adjustments on resource constraints and notifies supervisor of time off.
