Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Distribution Operations Coordinator in Merrillville, IN. This onsite role operates on a 4x4 schedule with 5am–5pm shifts, including weekends and holidays, and rotating days off.

You will assign daily work orders, dispatch emergencies, manage resources, and collaborate across departments to maintain service levels. A minimum of 2+ years in distribution operations and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in Distribution Operations or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Customer-focused and organized with good communication.
• Knowledge of Distribution Operations policies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns the daily work orders and activities of gas service employees based on workload requests and manpower availability.
• Prioritizes and assigns daily work orders to optimize utilization of resources.
• Dispatch all emergency orders including gas leaks, fire calls and monoxide orders timely.
• Monitors work and reassigns tasks to manage overtime and efficiency.
• Coordinate with schedulers and field operation leaders to prioritize and route daily work.
