Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Field Technical Support Consultant II to join our team in Santa Clara, CA, providing on-site break/fix services for HP PCs, laptops, desktops, RPOS, workstations, and printers.

The role requires diagnostic and repair expertise, strong communication with customers, and the ability to manage incidents within contractual and budget constraints. Travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with hardware training.
• Experience repairing PCs and peripherals.
• Proficient with hand tools and alignment apparatus.
• Strong troubleshooting for printers and PC hardware.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in onsite settings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Willing to work overtime and various shifts.
• Experience with HP printer repair preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite break/fix services for HP laptops, desktops, RPOS, and workstation products, with printer support as needed.
• Configure hardware, software, and simple network components and complete unit installations and repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues, including third-party software, networks, and switches when applicable.
• Collaborate with escalation personnel to remediate PC and printer issues.
• Educate customers on technology use and set clear expectations while maintaining satisfaction.
• Manage priorities in a fast-paced environment and document work per administrative requirements.
• Apply sound business judgment balancing customer needs with HP contractual and financial commitments.
