Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC seeks an on-site supervisor to assist the Superintendent and coordinate construction activities on major projects in Birmingham, AL. You will uphold safety standards, liaise with owners, designers, and subcontractors, and ensure efficient, compliant progress from planning through execution.

The role requires the ability to read drawings, manage staffing and procurement, and help prepare progress reports and payroll documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with relevant construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings.
• Strong communication and written skills for reporting to management.
• Basic math and computer skills for daily logs and reports.
• Professional demeanor and leadership abilities to manage site personnel.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist Superintendent and coordinate management of construction projects.
• Enforce safety as primary priority and ensure compliance with plans and policies.
• Coordinate with Estimating, Division and Project Management and owners/subcontractors.
• Develop production plans aligned with budget goals; assist in project status reports.
• Prepare payroll documentation and HR/Payroll policy compliance.
• Recruit, hire, and direct on-site field personnel per HR processes.
• Oversee subcontractor coordination and ensure schedule adherence.
• Review plans for contract compliance and coordinate shop drawings.
• Procure tools/materials and determine staffing levels and timing.
• Resolve worker grievances and coordinate inspections with stakeholders.
