Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead commercial construction projects in the Birmingham area. You will coordinate with owners, designers, and subcontractors to ensure safe, on-time, within-budget delivery of complex builds.

The role requires 4–7 years in commercial construction, prior tenure as a lead superintendent on at least one project, and willingness to travel. Strong communication and a valid driver’s license are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience in commercial construction.
• Experience as lead superintendent on at least one project.
• Experience on projects up to $80M preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Advocates safety as number one priority on the jobsite and enforces compliance with safety plans and regulations.
• Supervises and coordinates management of construction projects with owners, designers, and subcontractors.
• Develops detailed schedules and production plans with budget and safety goals.
• Prepares project status, payroll, and compliance reports.
• Reviews plans and coordinates shop drawings with contract documents.
• Procures tools and materials to meet the work schedule.
• Determines staffing levels and timing for each phase of the project.
• Recruits and directs onsite field personnel per HR processes.
• Resolve employee complaints and grievances with HR/Legal support.
• Coordinates with subcontractors to monitor compliance with terms and to resolve issues.
• Ensures schedules are adhered to by managing staffing and procurement.
• Oversees regulatory inspections.
