Job summary

Vaisala is seeking a Field Installation Engineer in the Northeast to install and support the viewLinc environmental monitoring system for life sciences customers. The role requires hands-on instrumentation, networking, and metrology expertise, with travel up to 75% from home base near a major airport.

The candidate should have a technical bachelor's degree and 5–8 years in field roles, plus experience in GxP environments and IQ/OQ/PQ validation. Vaisala offers a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years in field engineering, field service, or tech support roles.
• Experience in metrology, networking, and electronics is preferred.
• Familiarity with FDA/GxP validation processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite installation, configuration, commissioning, upgrades, troubleshooting, and repair of viewLinc hardware and software.
• Install and support data loggers, sensors, transmitters, gateways, routers, and related networked devices.
• Diagnose connectivity issues (Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, VPNs, DNS, NAT, firewalls).
• Support IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities in GxP environments and collaborate with QA/Validation teams.
• Provide technical training on system operation, alarms, reporting, and troubleshooting.
