Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Hydraulic Shovel Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic mining equipment including shovels, drills, and excavators.

You will perform advanced diagnostics, hydraulics maintenance, preventative care, and document maintenance activities, while adhering to safety protocols and OSHA/MSHA regulations.

This onsite role requires 3–5 years in heavy equipment maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license; CDL/MSHA is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of experience in maintenance/repair of large hydraulic mining or construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of fluid power systems, hydraulics, diesel engines and electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: diagnose hydraulic and electrical systems, identify leaks, failures or faults.
• Hydraulic Component Maintenance: dismantle, repair and replace pumps, motors, cylinders, valves and high-pressure hoses.
• Preventative Care: perform inspections, lubrication and wear analysis to prevent breakdowns.
• Technical Documentation Interpretation: read hydraulic schematics, manuals and diagrams to guide repairs.
• Safety and Compliance Enforcement: follow Lockout/Tagout practices and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
• Maintenance Record Management: document maintenance activities, repairs and parts used.
• Collaborative Teamwork: work with supervisors, engineers and other technicians to solve issues.
• Emergency Response: respond to breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
