Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Shovel Technician to join our field maintenance team in on-site assignments across multiple locations.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic shovels, drills, and excavators to keep mining operations productive and safe. Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years of experience, strong knowledge of fluid power, and the ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of vocational or technical training in heavy equipment mechanics, industrial hydraulics, or related field is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: perform in-depth diagnostics on hydraulic and electrical systems, identify leaks, component failures, or faults.
• Hydraulic Component Maintenance: dismantle, repair, and replace pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, hoses to spec.
• Preventative Care: inspections, lubrication, wear analysis to prevent breakdowns.
• Technical Documentation Interpretation: read hydraulic schematics, manuals, diagrams for guidance.
• Safety and Compliance Enforcement: follow LOTO, OSHA and MSHA regulations for safe work.
• Maintenance Record Management: keep precise records of activities, repairs, parts.
• Collaborative Teamwork: work with supervisors, engineers, and technicians to solve issues.
• Emergency Response: respond to breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
