Job summary

AE COM is seeking a Field Engineer to support federal facility assessment and hurricane recovery work in Kauai, Hawaii. You will connect engineering recommendations with field execution as teams evaluate damaged buildings, roofs, building envelopes, and utilities and move into emergency protection and permanent repairs.

This onsite role in Kauai requires collaboration with engineers, construction managers, and subcontractors, documenting site conditions, clarifying technical requirements, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of field engineering or construction engineering experience on facility or infrastructure projects.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Document damage assessments with field observations, measurements, photographs, and sketches to support repair scopes.
• Oversee subcontractor work.
• Review drawings, specifications, and engineering recommendations with construction teams to clarify technical requirements.
• Coordinate requests for information, submittals, and field questions with engineering and construction leads.
• Observe repairs and elevate unexpected site conditions or deviations requiring engineering review.
• Assist with quantities, material tracking, progress reporting, and coordination of inspections and testing.
• Maintain field records and support punch lists, as built documentation, and closeout while following site safety requirements.
