Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer to support federal facility assessment and hurricane recovery work in Kauai, Hawaii. You will conduct inspections, identify hazards, and document corrective actions while working closely with construction managers and subcontractors onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, construction management, engineering, or related field and 4+ years of field safety and health support on construction or infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency.
• A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
• US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine site inspections, safety observations, and pretask briefings across active work areas.
• Identify hazards related to damaged buildings, roofing, utilities, debris, equipment, and moisture mitigation.
• Review activity plans and help field teams implement appropriate controls and PPE.
• Document inspections, training, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with construction managers and subcontractors to address unsafe conditions promptly.
• Support incident investigations and reinforce site safety and health requirements.
