Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Field Engineer to support federal facility assessment and hurricane recovery work in Kauai, Hawaii. You will connect engineering recommendations with field execution as teams evaluate damaged buildings, roofs, building envelopes, and utilities and move into emergency protection and permanent repairs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline and 4+ years of field engineering or construction engineering experience on facility or infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Preferred: 8+ years of field engineering experience; experience with federal facility projects and multidisciplinary coordination; Engineer in Training (EIT) or PE license.

Responsibilities

• Document damage assessments with field observations, measurements, photographs, and sketches to support repair scopes.
• Oversee subcontractor work.
• Review drawings, specifications, and engineering recommendations with construction teams to clarify technical requirements.
• Coordinate requests for information, submittals, and field questions with engineering and construction leads.
• Observe repairs and elevate unexpected site conditions or deviations requiring engineering review.
• Assist with quantities, material tracking, progress reporting, and coordination of inspections and testing.
• Maintain field records and support punch lists, as-built documentation, and closeout while following site safety requirements.
