Job summary

Albemarle is hiring an Environmental Professional to join our Silver Peak, Nevada site, reporting to the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. The role focuses on developing and managing programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations while supporting operations and expansion projects.

The successful candidate will conduct sampling, analyze data, draft regulatory letters, and coordinate environmental audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate environmental science, permitting, or a related field.
• Minimum of three to five years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
• Competency in OSHA and MSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sampling and monitoring of environmental media.
• Review and analyze data to identify patterns or problems.
• Draft letters and reports for review by Environmental Manager.
• Perform site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and applicable permits.
• Develop, implement, and manage environmental policies and procedures, as directed.
• Work closely with capital projects, operations, and corporate support functions to ensure consistent alignment, excellent communication, and a collaborative culture.
• Develop plans to prevent or mitigate damage to the environment and coordinate response to emergencies such as hydrocarbon spills or chemical leaks.
• Manage all aspects of the plant's Hazardous waste, Non-Regulated Waste, Solid waste, and Universal waste within Federal, State and Local guidelines.
• Participate in community and industry organizations and events to promote collaboration and environmental awareness.
• Assist with the application of environmental regulations.
• Interact with regulatory agencies, auditors and other third parties during multi-media inspections and information requests.
• Monitors air and water quality and identifies hazardous pollutants that may pose a threat to the environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
