Job summary

Albemarle Corporation is seeking an Environmental Professional to join our Nevada site team in Silver Peak. The role reports to the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager and focuses on developing and managing programs to meet federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

You will work with site operations and capital projects to support ongoing operations, audits, and incident responses, ensuring safe and compliant environmental practices in a climate of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, permitting, or related field.
• 3–5 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
• Competency with OSHA and MSHA compliance.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and be self-directed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with SAP, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sampling and monitoring of environmental media.
• Review and analyze data to identify patterns or problems.
• Draft letters and reports for Environmental Manager.
• Perform site audits and inspections for compliance.
• Develop, implement, and manage environmental policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with capital projects, operations, and support functions.
• Develop plans to prevent or mitigate environmental damage and coordinate responses to emergencies.
• Manage hazardous, non-regulated, solid, and universal waste per regulations.
• Participate in community and industry activities to promote environmental awareness.
• Interact with regulatory agencies and auditors during inspections.
