Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking an Engineering Project Assistant for on-site hardware development support in the ACTT department. You will handle ordering, kitting, and coordination of builds, track short lead time requests, and manage parts spreadsheets while collaborating with purchasing and engineers.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or AA/AS degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Communication and project coordination skills.
• Experience with customer support and service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ordering and tracking parts
• BOM creation
• Tracking/managing short lead time simulations, creating routes and reports for yield and defects configuration and serialization
• Facilitating PREP reviews
• Releasing drawings/documents
• Tracking and ordering Customer Owned Property (COPS)
• Shipping as required, and other general support as requested
• Edits format of required documentation
• Interfaces with technicians, engineers and engineering managers to create/ edit documentation.
• Supports the Bid & Proposal process, assisting in bid narratives and bid reviews
• Represents organization as a prime contact on projects, often coordinating activities of support personnel and communicating effectively
• Generally works on moderately difficult assignments which are given in terms of objectives to be accomplished and priorities to be followed. Requires judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
