Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineer for our SPS team in Cedar Rapids. You will collaborate on system requirements, translate them into software designs, and work with a cross-functional team to deliver mission-critical solutions that meet certification standards.

The role requires embedded development experience, a STEM degree, and an active SECRET clearance. Onsite work with opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace technologies and secure systems integration.

Qualifications

• Experience with embedded development using object‑oriented design.
• Active and transferable SECRET clearance is required prior to start date.
• Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on system requirements and software development for a large-scale program.
• Work with engineers across disciplines to ensure clear communication and cohesive solutions.
• Provide technical support to SBCDS team and resolve issues to maintain system integrity.
• Develop code to meet customer requirements and certification standards.
• Implement software in testing environments and ensure thorough validation.
