Job summary

Essenti Talent is partnering with a Central New York manufacturer to hire an Embedded Firmware Engineer. You will write embedded C for microcontroller‑based systems and work closely with electrical, mechanical, and test engineers to advance products from concept to production.

The role focuses on bare‑metal firmware, MCU peripherals, and hardware interactions, with opportunities to contribute to new product development and ongoing improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded C firmware for microcontrollers.
• Bachelor's degree in EE/CE/CS or equivalent.
• Experience with new product development preferred.
• HVAC/R or industrial electronics exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware using C.
• Develop firmware for 8-, 16-, and 32-bit MCUs.
• Create control logic for sensors, switches, relays, motors.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on product development.
• Debug hardware and firmware with lab equipment.
• Participate in new product development, testing, validation.
• Troubleshoot existing products and support improvements.
• Document code and participate in design reviews.
