Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join its Central New York manufacturing team. You will write embedded C code for microcontroller-based systems, design and debug firmware, and collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and test engineers to bring products from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded C firmware experience for microcontroller-based systems.
• Strong understanding of microcontrollers, interrupts, timers, peripherals, and hardware interfaces.
• Experience developing and debugging bare-metal embedded firmware.
• Ability to troubleshoot interactions between firmware and electronic hardware.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with new product development is strongly preferred.
• Experience with HVAC/R controls, industrial electronics, or similar products is a plus.
• Early-career engineers with exceptional internship experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware using C programming.
• Develop firmware for 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers.
• Create control logic for sensors, switches, relays, motors, and other electronic components.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on product development, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Debug hardware and firmware using oscilloscopes, development tools, and laboratory equipment.
• Participate in new product development, testing, and validation.
• Troubleshoot existing products and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Document code, participate in design reviews, and support products through manufacturing.
