Job summary

Henderson Group Recruiting collaborates with a Central New York manufacturer to recruit an Embedded Firmware Engineer. The role involves hands-on embedded C coding for microcontroller-based systems, with collaboration across electrical, mechanical, and test engineers to develop and improve products.

You will work on HVAC/R and industrial applications, writing robust firmware, debugging, and supporting product movement from concept to production in an onsite, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience writing embedded C firmware for microcontroller-based systems is required.
• Strong understanding of microcontrollers, interrupts, timers, peripherals, and hardware interfaces.
• Experience developing and debugging bare-metal embedded firmware.
• Ability to troubleshoot interactions between firmware and electronic hardware.
• Experience with HVAC/R controls, industrial electronics, or similar products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware using C programming.
• Develop firmware for 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers.
• Create control logic for sensors, switches, relays, motors, and other components.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on product development, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Debug hardware and firmware using oscilloscopes, development tools, and lab equipment.
• Participate in new product development, testing, and validation.
• Troubleshoot existing products and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Document code and participate in design reviews.
