Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) in El Segundo, CA, seeks an Electro Optical Systems Engineer to support the Advanced Products & Solutions Mission Area. You will contribute to designing and building EO systems, including imagers, EO tracking, LIDAR, and directed energy, and derive design and test requirements.

The role requires a Master’s in Physics/Optical or related STEM, hands-on optics experience, C++/Python/MATLAB skills, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance. Onsite, relocation eligible.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics, Optical, or related STEM major obtained by start date
• Experience with electro-optical infrared imagery, focal plane technology, lenses, or apertures
• Experience with fundamental optical principles including geometrical optics, physical optics, imaging systems, aberrations, or detectors
• Hands-on experience through coursework or lab work with optical testing or alignment
• Experience may be obtained through job experience, research, coursework, or projects
