Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) is seeking an Electro-Optical Systems Engineer in McKinney, TX to support the Advanced Products & Solutions Mission Area. You will help develop and assemble advanced electro-optical systems, including imagers, EO tracking, LIDAR, and directed energy components, contributing to system architecture and verification plans.

The position requires a Master’s degree in STEM and hands-on optics experience, with an onsite work arrangement and security clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Physics, Optical, Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date.
Experience with electro-optical infrared imagery, focal plane technology, lenses, or apertures.
Experience with fundamental optical principles include geometrical optics, physical optics, imaging systems, aberrations, or detectors.
Hands‑on experience through coursework or lab work with optical testing or alignment.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

Assess systems architecture and derive design and performance requirements for subsystems and units.
Develop verification and test activities and IV&V plans to meet program requirements.
Support design and build efforts and interpret mission requirements for system-level coherence.
