Job summary

RTX's Electro-Optical Systems Engineer role in Goleta, CA focuses on designing advanced EO systems such as imagers, LIDAR, and directed energy concepts. You will assess architecture, develop requirements, and support IV&V planning for complex mission systems.

We seek candidates with a STEM degree and hands-on optical lab experience; DoD Secret clearance is required or ability to obtain. This onsite position offers relocation eligibility and a path to contribute to critical defense programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Optical, or related STEM major by start date.
• Experience with electro‑optical infrared imagery, focal plane tech, lenses, or apertures.
• Understanding of fundamental optical principles including geometrical/physical optics.
• Hands-on experience with optical testing or alignment in coursework or labs.
