Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Desktop Support Technician for a contract role based out of Waco, TX. The role provides onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals, with emphasis on Windows and macOS, Microsoft 365 apps, and Active Directory.

Responsibilities include imaging, deployment, remote troubleshooting, and asset management, while maintaining ticketing records and supporting collaboration tools. 3+ years of corporate desktop support is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of desktop support, help desk, or technical support experience in a corporate environment.
• Strong experience supporting Windows 10/11.
• Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Knowledge of desktop hardware, laptop hardware, printers, and peripheral troubleshooting.
• Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
• Familiarity with remote support tools and remote troubleshooting methodologies.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Diagnose and resolve problems involving desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Install, configure, deploy, and maintain Windows and macOS devices.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
• Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory and related enterprise systems.
• Perform device imaging, deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management.
• Utilize remote support tools to troubleshoot and resolve end-user issues.
• Document incidents, service requests, resolutions, and updates within the ticketing system.
• Support virtual meeting and collaboration technologies.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure equipment is properly tracked throughout its lifecycle.
• Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate and collaborate with other IT teams.
• Educate users on technology best practices, security awareness, and standard IT procedures.
