Job summary

CompucomStaffing is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join our client’s team onsite in Bangor, ME. The role provides end-user IT support, troubleshoots hardware and software, and assists with account security and device management.

The ideal candidate has 3–6+ years in deskside support, strong customer-facing skills, and familiarity with mobile devices. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and 401(k) options.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6+ years of experience supporting PC hardware and software.
• Deskside support experience in an enterprise environment.
• Comfort with server and network support; mobile device experience is a plus.
• CompTIA A+ certification preferred but not required.
• Strong customer-facing communication and IT knowledge base.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and peripherals.
• Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems.
• Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security, and groups.
• Trains employees and responds to routine technical questions or requests.
• Resolves network connection issues and traces connections back to switches.
• Escalates problems to higher level support when needed.
