Job summary

Trace3 is seeking a Data Center Engineer to provide advanced technical support for client servers, storage, and networking hardware onsite and remotely. The role leads escalated issues, performs root cause analysis, and drives remediation plans with independence and technical depth.

You will work on-site at client facilities, plan maintenance, validate replacements, and coordinate with partners. Strong RCA, certification qualifications, and customer-centric approach are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent level of work experience.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience leading technical root cause analysis and developing remediation plans on server, storage, or networking hardware.
• CompTIA and Linux Certifications or equivalent.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with ConnectWise Manage, WebEx, and ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

• Analyze tier-two service requests for servers, storage, and networking devices and extend support.
• Consult with clients to assess requirements and diagnose failures, delivering remediation plans and next steps.
• Plan and execute hardware maintenance and component replacements with pre-change checks and post-repair validation.
• Troubleshoot and replace server hardware components and validate system functionality.
• Configure platform-level management functions (iLO, iDRAC, XCC, BMC); manage credentials and firmware settings.
• Maintain onsite spare-parts inventory and coordinate replenishment.
• Process RMA returns and track items through completion.
• Lead customer phone and remote-support sessions to gather details and coordinate resolutions.
• Document diagnostics, actions, and configurations in service records.
• Develop knowledge articles and best practices for supported products.
• Support special projects such as new device installations and decommissions.
