Job summary

The Squires Group is seeking a customer-focused professional for a fully onsite role based in Washington, DC. The position supports a walk-in customer service office and assists customers with billing inquiries, account issues, service requests, payments, and other account-related needs.

Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders per the client contract. Responsibilities include handling payments, reconciling records, and assisting field teams across multiple channels.

Qualifications

• Experience in person, phone and email customer service.
• Experience handling billing disputes or payment inquiries.
• Able to process customer payments and reconcile records.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Professional handling of escalated customer situations.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Experience with utility systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer support for billing inquiries, service requests, account maintenance, reconnections, deposits, and escalated concerns in person, by phone, and via email.
• Process and reconcile customer payments (cash, checks, money orders) with accurate documentation.
• Review customer accounts in SAP and apply policies to resolve issues.
• Maintain and verify customer documentation (leases, deeds, IDs, service records).
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies, fraud alerts, and identity concerns.
• Process service orders, validate customer information, and support programs like ANCP.
• Assist field collection teams, compile traffic statistics, prepare end-of-day reports, and cover other offices as needed.
• Perform additional duties and special projects.
