Job summary

HITT Contracting invites strong graduates to join the Futures Program as a Commercial Construction Project Engineer (PE). The program provides immersive, on-site training designed to fast-track to assistant-level project management or superintendent roles.

Participants shadow experienced leaders, gain hands-on experience, and receive mentorship, training, and growth opportunities. The program emphasizes safety, professional development, and exposure to real projects with pathways to leadership

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Military experience or an accredited Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Business strongly preferred.
• Previous experience on commercial job sites strongly preferred.
• Passion for the construction industry and on-site work.
• Ability to learn sector- and project-specific software systems including Microsoft Office 365, ProCore, Adobe Suite, BlueBeam and JD Edwards.

Responsibilities

• Stay fully onsite for the 12-month training program to shadow, learn and gain hands-on experience on assigned projects.
• Demonstrate understanding of training topics and participate in 4-month performance reviews.
• Follow directions and coaching from Futures Program Sponsor to develop skills.
• Develop professional skills such as clear communication, time management, and integrity.
• Assist in project setup, scheduling updates, take-offs, and coordination with subs and vendors.
• Support implementation of HITT’s Corporate Safety Program and participate in safety meetings.

Education

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Business

Previous commercial job site experience
