HITT Contracting is seeking a Commercial Construction Project Engineer for its 12-month Futures Program. Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Military experience or an accredited Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Business is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience on commercial job sites is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to learn sector- and project-specific software systems (MS Office 365, ProCore, Adobe Suite, BlueBeam, JD Edwards).
• Ability to walk/stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to commute to a jobsite within a 30–40-mile radius of the assigned office.

Responsibilities

• Be fully onsite for the 12-month training program to shadow, learn, and gain hands-on experience on assigned projects.
• Demonstrate professional communication skills (written and verbal) with a focus on audience-appropriate writing.
• Set up and maintain jobsite office and all jobsite records (directory, docs, logs, correspondence).
• Make updates to as-built drawings and interpret basic coordination drawings.
• Direct installation of site protection and signage, and identify items to make safe before demolition.
• Assist with construction tasks and participate in site inspections to ensure quality and workmanship.
• Assist Project Managers with budgeting, scheduling, and client management tasks.
• Support the implementation of HITT’s Corporate Safety Program by conducting safety meetings and reports.
