Job summary

SteerBridge, Inc. seeks a Construction Manager to provide onsite oversight for VA healthcare facility upgrades in Kerrville, TX, ensuring schedule, safety, and quality align with VA standards and regulations.

The role requires a four-year degree or 10 years of CM experience, OSHA training, and the ability to coordinate with the COR, General Contractor, and EHRM stakeholders; Primavera P6 experience; and professional credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required and the ability to pass VA background checks.
• A four-year degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Technology, or Construction Management with 3+ years of CM experience, or 10 years of CM experience in lieu of the degree.
• Healthcare construction experience with knowledge of building systems and inspection requirements.
• Knowledge of VA design guides, Master Specifications (TIL), NFPA/NEC/ICC standards and OSHA safety practices.
• Credentials such as CCM, PE, RA, PMP, or FAC‑P/PM are preferred.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar CPM scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite construction management oversight of EHRM infrastructure upgrades through pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Coordinate contract services and oversee Contractor staff assigned to EHRM projects.
• Review planning, phasing, constructability, and value engineering while maintaining VA standards.
• Facilitate pre-construction and progress meetings and coordinate site access and security documentation.
• Monitor contractor schedules, maintain daily diaries, and report slippages with recommended adjustments.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and support cost estimates and Time Impact Analyses.
• Conduct field inspections and monitor safety, testing, and nonconforming work.
• Coordinate commissioning and closeout activities including training, warranties, and O&M manuals.
