Job summary

AES Corporation's Renewables segment in Kansas seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead on-site construction of utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects. You will oversee EPC contractors, ensure schedule, budget, safety, and quality compliance, and act as the owner's on-site representative to drive project execution.

Responsibilities include coordinating with landowners, DEQ and AHJ, managing documents, change orders, punch lists, and daily field activities, while

Qualifications

5+ years of onsite utility-scale solar, battery storage, and/or substation construction management.
Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
Willingness to travel and be on site 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

Lead on-site construction of solar and BESS projects, coordinating with EPC contractors.
Ensure schedule, budget, safety, QA/QC, and permit compliance.
Act as owner’s on-site representative, manage change orders and documentation.
Coordinate with landowners, DEQ/AHJ, and internal teams to resolve issues.
Conduct daily/weekly safety walks and drive continuous improvement.
