Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the on-site delivery of utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage projects in Kansas. You will oversee EPC contractors, enforce safety and quality, and ensure schedule and budget adherence while coordinating with the project management team.

This field-based leadership role requires strong communication, a proactive approach to risk, and a track record of delivering large-scale energy infrastructure on time.

Qualifications

• 5 years of onsite utility-scale solar, battery storage, and/or substation construction management.
• Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
• Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
• OSHA 30 Certified
• Must be willing to travel and generally be on site 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site EPC contractors, drive safety and quality to ensure project success.
• Represent AES Renewables & Power values with project teams and landowners.
• Establish transparent communication with landowners on timelines, impacts, and progress.
• Manage on-site drone progress updates and environmental/safety risk management.
• Coordinate with DEQ, AHJ, and EPC on environmental issues and community concerns.
• Deliver project milestones in line with the Project Execution Plan and schedule.
• Direct AES on-site contract employees (QA/QC, Safety, Commissioning) and verify time records.
• Maintain project documentation, change orders, and invoices with PM team.
• Lead site inspections, punch lists, and QA/QC to ensure best-in-class assets.
