Job summary

MasTec Civil, LLC seeks an Assistant Project Manager for heavy civil/bridge work, including Charlotte, Raleigh, and surrounding areas. The role supports a Project Executive in daily management, scheduling, and contract administration on complex transportation projects.

Ideal candidates bring at least 5 years of heavy highway experience and strong leadership, with a PE in civil engineering preferred. The position emphasizes safety, on-site collaboration, and timely document control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Civil Engineering or Construction Science and Management.
• 5+ years of heavy highway experience; 2+ years of progressive project management preferred.
• Professional Engineering registration in civil engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and adjust project plans, staffing, equipment, and timelines with management.
• Serve as on-site primary company representative and lead coordination meetings.
• Staff the project with HR, mentor engineers, and enforce policies.
• Review invoices, subcontractor payments, and cost reports; identify variances.
• Manage the project budget, track costs, and document change orders.
• Oversee subcontractors and vendors, ensuring timely payments and changes.
• Maintain project records, daily reports, logs, photos, and minutes.
• Represent the company professionally in client interactions; negotiate as needed.
• Enforce safety standards and OSHA compliance across activities.
