Job summary

MasTec Civil, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a new heavy civil project in Charleston, SC. The role supports the Project Executive with daily management, scheduling, coordination, and contract administration to meet project objectives.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering or construction management background with 5+ years in heavy highway and strong leadership, communication, and safety compliance skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Science and Management.
• 5+ years of heavy highway experience; 2+ years of progressive project management experience preferred.
• Professional Engineering registration in civil engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule project plans, staffing, equipment, and timelines with management; continuously improve execution strategies.
• Lead progress and internal coordination meetings; ensure timely document submission and on-site representation.
• Staff the project with HR, supervise engineering personnel, and enforce policies across the team.
• Understand contract documents and payment terms; review invoices and cost reports; identify variances and potential claims.
• Monitor budgets, control costs, and manage change orders and claims; oversee subcontractor and vendor payments.
