Job summary

MasTec Civil, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Heavy Civil/Bridge) to support daily project management for large-scale highway and bridge construction in Charleston, SC and surrounding markets. The role reports to the Project Executive and emphasizes scheduling, coordination, and contract administration.

Responsibilities include leading on-site activities, managing documents, coordinating with HR for staffing, and supervising engineers while ensuring safety and quality standards are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Science and Management is required or preferred.
• 5+ years of heavy highway experience; 2+ years of progressive project management experience preferred.
• Professional Engineering registration in civil engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule projects with management and coordinate staffing, equipment, and timelines.
• Lead on-site coordination meetings and ensure timely document submission and scope alignment.
• Supervise engineers, mentor junior staff, and enforce company policies.
• Review contracts, payment terms, invoices, and cost reports; manage change orders and claims.
