Job summary

MasTec Civil, LLC in Charleston, SC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Heavy Civil/Bridge) to support the Project Executive in daily management, scheduling, and cost control on a major bridge project.

You will lead planning, on-site coordination, staffing, and subcontractor oversight while ensuring safety, quality, and timely document submission. A Civil Engineering degree and 5+ years of heavy highway experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Science & Management.
• 5+ years of heavy highway experience; 2+ years of progressive PM experience preferred.
• Professional Engineering registration in civil engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule project activities with management input.
• Lead on-site coordination meetings and ensure timely document submission.
• Staff the project with qualified personnel and mentor engineers.
• Review contracts, approve invoices, and monitor cost reports.
• Control project costs and document change orders and claims.
• Negotiate and manage subcontractors and vendors; ensure timely payments.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, photos, and minutes.
• Represent the company professionally in client negotiations.
• Enforce safety standards and OSHA regulations on site.
