Job summary

Career Team, a leading workforce development organization, is hiring a Career Advisor to provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services on-site at our locations. You will assess jobseekers' needs and develop individualized plans, guiding clients toward training and employment opportunities.

The role requires strong communication, bilingual ability, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources.
• MS Word and Excel skills at minimum; ability to learn specialized databases.
• Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and case management services to the community.
• Complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce program.
• Assess jobseekers’ employment and training needs and abilities through interviewing, testing, and other methods.
• Serves as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners.
• Enter data into and use required databases as per One-Stop systems.
• Develop a comprehensive Individual Employment Plan (IEP) for all customers; provide referrals and tracking.
• Counsel clients on available job opportunities, training programs, and other services.
• Refer individuals to appropriate services and follow up on those activities.
• Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations for clients.
• Maintain complete case files with eligibility documents and compliance.
• Meet and exceed program benchmarks; participate in staff events and training.
• Complete all required reports.
