Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Career Advisor to provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services to participants eligible for workforce programs. The advisor guides jobseekers toward employment and training goals, removes barriers to success, and ensures accurate, compliant case management under supervision.

This HYBRID role requires a bachelor’s degree, strong communication skills, and MS Word/Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make well-thought-out decisions.
• MS Word and Excel skills at minimum; ability to learn specialized databases and software systems.
• Ability to work with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive.
• Ability to motivate clients toward achieving goals.
• Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of the WIOA program and workforce program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and case management services to community members interested in workforce services.
• Complete intake and eligibility determination for assigned workforce programs.
• Assess jobseekers' employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing and testing.
• Serve as a liaison between workforce programs and community partners and resources.
• Enter data into WIT and process clients through the information system.
• Guide jobseekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP).
• Stay updated on labor market trends and best practices in career paths.
• Counsel clients on available job opportunities and training programs.
• Refer individuals to services and follow up on activities.
• Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, and group presentations for clients.
• Assist participants in removing barriers to employment and training.
• Maintain accurate case files in WIT with required eligibility documents.
• Meet program benchmarks and participate in staff events and training.
• Complete reports within the data management system.
• Approach tasks with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
