Job summary

TGW Systems Inc. is seeking a Resident Automation Technician Lead to support automation topics and supervise a TGW resident technician team at a customer facility in Cowpens, SC.

The role interfaces between the customer and TGW to ensure smooth operations of conveyors, shuttles, and related systems. Requires an associate degree or technical certificate in controls engineering and several years in industrial maintenance, with leadership experience and strong HMI/SCADA knowledge.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certificate in controls engineering, mechatronics, or related field.
• Several years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial/warehousing environments.
• Leadership experience and ability to handle high-stress situations with strong interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with HMI/SCADA and control systems; ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of Profibus and Profinet; strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the point person between the supported facility and Lifetime Services team for automation and personnel topics.
• Assist with onsite responsibilities: manage incidents, coordinate shift work, approve timecards, respond to requests, and participate in customer meetings.
• Coordinate work orders and oversee maintenance of automated equipment onsite (conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, carton-opening systems).
• Provide hands‑on maintenance support and lead troubleshooting efforts requiring in-depth technical knowledge; communicate activities to the customer.
• Perform root cause analyses and drive issues to resolution; monitor spare parts inventory and support supplier coordination.
