Job summary

TGW Logistics is seeking a Resident Automation Technician to support a customer site in Cowpens, SC. The role requires hands-on repair, troubleshooting, and a broad electrical/mechanical skillset to improve site performance and meet KPIs.

This is an onsite position at the customer location, with a 5:00p – 5:00a Friday to Sunday shift. Responsibilities include resolving equipment issues quickly, completing work orders, performing maintenance on conveyors, cranes, shuttles and related automation

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial/warehousing environments preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolve customer equipment issues quickly and practically.
• Complete work assignments and related work orders.
• Maintain automated equipment onsite (conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, carton-opening systems).
• Adhere to high quality standards and safety regulations.
• Improve automation efficiency to meet KPIs and interface with the customer as needed.
• Monitor and maintain site spare parts inventory.

The Resident Automation Technician supports our customer on all automation-related topics. This position requires a broad-based electrical and mechanical skillset and a proactive approach to improve the site’s performance through trouble‑shooting and hands‑on repair. Based at our customer site, the Resident Automation Technician must represent the TGW image and ensure that a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.

This position is onsite at our customers location in Cowpens, SC.

Shift: 5:00p - 5:00a Friday - Sunday

What you’ll be handling

• Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
• Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
• Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment onsite, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
• Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
• Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory, as applicable.

What you’ll need

• High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
• Previous experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, or related environments, preferred.
• Thorough attention to detail and demonstrated problem‑solving ability.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience preferred.
