Job summary

Symbotic seeks a Site Engineer to support reliability and uptime of automated warehouse systems in a live production environment. The role is hands-on, on-site, and focused on troubleshooting, maintaining and stabilizing electro-mechanical systems.

You’ll work within the Customer Operations team to drive quality, safety and system performance across conveyors, lifts and robotics. Prior PLC/VFD/motor experience and CMMS familiarity are important.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical field.
• At least 1 year diagnosing PLCs (preferably Allen-Bradley) and troubleshooting issues.
• Experience diagnosing VFDs, motors, sensors and control hardware.
• Hands-on work with automated systems like conveyors and lifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health of automated systems including conveyors, lifts, robotics, motors and sensors.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and automation issues impacting production.
• Diagnose PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors and control hardware to resolve faults.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Use CMMS (e.g., Maximo) to document activities and findings.
• Serve as senior technical escalation during downtime and disruptions.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to restore performance.
• Provide on-the-job guidance to technicians and operators.
• Support critical on-site functions to maintain uptime.
• Ensure OSHA, LOTO and electrical safety compliance.
