Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Site Engineer to ensure uptime of automated warehouse systems in a live production environment. This hands-on role focuses on troubleshooting, stabilization of electro‑mechanical equipment, and maintaining system health on site.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year experience with PLCs (Allen‑Bradley preferred), VFDs, and motors, plus working knowledge of SQL/Python/Linux for diagnostics. OSHA safety and on-site collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands‑on experience in a relevant engineering field.
• 1+ year hands‑on experience with PLCs (prefer Allen‑Bradley).
• 1+ year with VFDs, diagnosing speed/torque issues.
• 1+ year experience with AC/DC motors and automated equipment.
• Experience with conveyors, AS/RS, robotics, or 480V systems is a plus.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python, Linux for diagnostics and logs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain health of automated systems (conveyors, lifts, robotic vehicles, motors, sensors, PLCs).
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and automation issues to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose PLC, VFD, motor, and sensor failures; document findings.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Use CMMS and dashboards to identify fault conditions and trends.
• Provide on-site technical escalation and guidance to technicians.
