Employment Group is seeking an experienced Project Accountant for an on-site role in Ann Arbor, MI. This contract-to-hire position partners with project managers and consultants to ensure accurate setup, billing, invoicing, and compliance with company procedures in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in accounting or project accounting, with AEC industry experience preferred and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a team-focused setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting or project accounting experience.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting; relevant experience accepted.
• AEC industry experience is preferred.
• Experience with project billing, consultant invoicing, setup and closeout.

Responsibilities

• Set up new clients and projects within internal systems.
• Process project intakes and maintain accurate project records.
• Coordinate and conduct billing meetings with Project Managers.
• Prepare and manage client invoices.
• Review project backlog notes and perform backlog cleanup as needed.
• Process consultant invoices and reconcile consultant statements.
• Monitor project financial activity and assist with reporting.
• Support project closeout activities and ensure proper closure.
• Maintain accurate project accounting records and documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely financial information.
